In February, 2002 the Students Affairs Division of the Registry was transformed into the directorate of Student Affairs and placed under the Vice Chancellor Office. This is in keeping with current practice in all Universities in the country. The Vice Chancellor usually a Dean as the head of the Directorate. The Dean is ably assisted by a Deputy Registrar known as Student Affairs Officer.

For ease of Administration, the Directorate is Sub-divided into the following units:

ACADEMIC MATTERS UNIT
As the term implies, this Unit of the directorate handles matters relating to:

1. Students’ Work Study Programme
2. Scholarship and Bursary Awards
3. National Youths Service Corps
4. Academic Ceremonies
5. Liaising with outside campuses

STUDENT’ WELFARE UNIT
The Unit handles matters relating to the following:

1. Students’ Lodging and Other Matters relating to Students’ Welfare
   
   Including relationships with the host communities
2. Sports Matters
3. Liaising with the Olubi Sodipo Counseling Centre
4. Students’ Union Matters

GENERAL ADMINISTRATION UNIT
It is the responsibility of this unit to handle matters relating to:-

1. Students’ Record (Full-Time, Part-Time & PDS for now)
2. Students information Hand book
3. Registration of Clubs and Associations
4. Supervision of filling of documents

STUDENT DISCIPLINE UNIT
This unit handles the following responsibilities:-

1. Student Disciplinary Committee
2. Council / Senate Committee on Appeal
3. Students’ Complaints
4. Liaising with security units such as Police, SSS and the University Internal Security Unit.

It is pertinent to note that this is the responsibility of the Student Affairs Officer to coordinate the activities of all the Units in the Directorate and report to the Dean of Students from time to time.
